Soldiers in Iraq

Major Lance Turlington presents Mother's Day Cards collected by Freedom students to Navy Lieutenant Eric Nelson in Iraq.    May 2009

"I hope they know we care about them more than just as soldiers, but as real people and when their mothers get these cards, I hope they feel like their soldier is actually still here with them." (Freedom 5th Grade Student comment)

"We received hundreds of Mother's Day cards from Freedom Elementary School.  We passed them out to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines so they could send them home in time for Mother's Day.  It was a very thoughtful gesture from the school, and appreciated by everyone over here.  Thank you!" stated Major Turlington, Army JAG Corps, Baghdad, Iraq.
